Following the award ceremony, the Hungarian S3 strategy was presented.
S3 is a policy instrument used for the first time in the European Union for the period 2014-2020. The new strategy covers the period 2021-2027, and in the EU financial planning cycle, smart specialization strategies are expected to contribute to the EU's policy goal of a
"smarter Europe" and to the development of regional economies and industrial transformation and digitalization. to strengthen structural adjustment. In the European Union, Hungary is currently present as an emerging innovator in the group of member states according to the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS) set up annually by the European Commission. The goal is to catch up with Europe's major innovators by 2030 by boosting the value-creating capacity of the innovation ecosystem and the productivity of the corporate sector.
Achieving this goal requires a complex economic development concept: in addition to the continuous increase of resources, success also requires results-oriented, more efficient planning and use of EU and domestic subsidies.
A change compared to the previous strategy is that in addition to the innovation field, the government department responsible for info-communication and business development also took an active part in the design of the new S3.

ITM's three Deputy State Secretaries will continue to work together to implement the strategy. In S3, 8 national economic priorities identify those smart specialization directions for which the concentration of resources and the encouragement of RDI developments can provide Hungary with a significant competitive advantage.
In addition, two horizontal priorities in S3 set out objectives for skills development and modernization of the business environment that support the effective implementation of national economic priorities. Proposals receiving funding in the 2021-2027 programming cycle should contribute to the objectives of the priorities.

5. 14:00-14:30 Tamás Takács, an employee of NKFIH, gave a presentation entitled The National Intelligent Specialization Strategy 2021-2027, in which he discussed the significance of the S3 strategy from Hungary's point of view.

6. 14:30-14:40 Ödön Mestyanek, representing the Archenerg Cluster, presented the cluster and the SmartEnergy projects and their possibilities related to the S3 strategy. He Introduced the opportunities for companies and the system on how they can join the missions to expand their business, and get in contact with new partners from Italy, France, and Belgium.

7. 14:40-15:00 Dávid Jakab from Omega Code Kft. spoke about the importance of digitization and artificial intelligence from the perspective of the corporate sector.
