Uzbek-Hungarian Scientific Collaboration with the HUN-REN Research Centre
A key focus of the meeting was strengthening scientific cooperation. Before the official meeting in Szeged, Dr. Shavkat Nurmatov and Dr. Javokhir Shermatov, accompanied by Patrik Dominik Nagy, visited Dr. András Tompos at the HUN-REN Research Centre in Budapest. The research center is preparing to host two Uzbek doctoral students who will conduct advanced research in hydrogen technology.
During the visit, they presented their current research projects, scientific achievements, and future research goals. Dr. Shavkat Nurmatov also presented a draft framework agreement to establish a long-term partnership between Uzbek institutions and HUN-REN, promoting joint research activities, knowledge exchange, and academic mobility.
The Booster eSaver Comes to Uzbekistan
Zoltán Horváth, the inventor of the innovative Booster eSaver device, also attended the meeting to discuss the possibility of certifying the device in Uzbekistan. The Booster eSaver is a technological solution designed to improve vehicle efficiency and sustainability. The collaboration seems especially promising with a major Uzbek export company that operates a large fleet of trucks and has shown interest in implementing the Booster eSaver.
Other Cooperation Opportunities
Additional promising areas for collaboration were also discussed at the meeting, such as the export of Uzbek pharmaceutical products to Europe. The Uzbek cluster is preparing to compile a list and samples of textiles and medicines that could be exported.
The Hungarian side also proposed a large-scale project in Uzbekistan focused on the innovative utilization of 10,000 tons of PET waste bottles annually based on a detailed business plan. The parties agreed to send a short description of the project to the Uzbek partner soon.
This meeting marks a significant step in deepening the relationship between Hungarian and Uzbek partners and lays the foundation for successful future collaborations in innovation, research, and commerce.
