Why is reADAPT needed?

A significant portion of Europe’s public buildings (around 75%) does not meet modern energy efficiency standards, while renovation rates remain extremely low. Current practices are often built on reactive and isolated solutions. In contrast, reADAPT offers a systemic methodology that centers on the circular economy, digitalization, and actual user needs.

The Main Pillars of the Project:

  • Temporary Utilization: Acts as a physical simulation to help test future functions.

  • Digital Twins: Multi-level digital modeling to optimize whole-life carbon (WLC) emissions.

  • Living Labs: The methodology will be tested in real-world environments across seven countries (including Hungary, France, Finland, and Switzerland), encompassing various climate conditions and governance models.

International Cooperation

The project is coordinated by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) with a total of 12 partners, including prestigious universities (such as Zurich, Madrid, Istanbul, and Liverpool) and professional organizations.

The Archenerg-Metál Cluster is proud to contribute its expertise toward creating a more resilient, carbon-neutral, and livable built environment in Europe.
