The Spanish diplomatic mission on Nádor Street in Budapest hosted the conference titled “Energy: Renewable Sources and Energy Efficiency.” The primary objective of the event was to deepen economic ties and stimulate innovation partnerships between Hungarian and Spanish enterprises, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In line with the ethos of the Archenerg-Metal Cluster, attendees were introduced to sustainable technological solutions and business models that directly contribute to enhancing the international competitiveness of member companies and preparing their entry into third-country markets.
The intensive professional program, conducted entirely in English, commenced with the official opening remarks delivered jointly by Zsolt Hajnalka, Vice President for Project and Financing Affairs of the Archenerg-Metal Cluster, and Rafael Fuentes Candau, Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Hungary. In their welcome addresses, both emphasized that achieving climate protection goals and establishing energy independence demand global technology transfer and close inter-cluster cooperation.
Following this, in the spirit of international networking, Daniel González Bootello, Director General of the Spanish Smart Cities Cluster, took the stage to present best practices from "smart city" projects in Spain, highlighting how urbanized environments can become the foundation for sustainable energy management. The first block of the morning session was concluded by Francesco Cortesi, Managing Director of ID Energy Hungary, who shared his insights on the large-scale market integration of renewable energy, as well as current trends in solar and green energy investments.
The program continued with the future of alternative powertrains and sustainable mobility, presented by János Szilasi representing Toyota Sakura. Following this, attention shifted to the drawing boards: Dr. Gábor Márkus (MG Architect) provided deeper insights into the core principles of environmentally conscious and energy-efficient architectural design. The series of corporate presentations was concluded by János Kincses, an expert from Electraplan Kft., who outlined the modernization opportunities for advanced electrical and power supply infrastructures.
The Archenerg Cluster and the Economic and Commercial Department of the Embassy of Spain would like to take this opportunity to thank their professional partners and member companies for their active participation, which establishes a solid foundation for future joint innovation projects.
