The Archenerg-Metál Cluster played a key role in the forum, represented by Ágnes Gonda and Dr. Piroska Szentgáli. Their presence highlighted the strategic intent of the cluster’s member companies to open up to Far Eastern markets. According to discussions at the event, boosting Chinese and Singaporean investments creates a direct opportunity for Hungarian companies to gain access to advanced technology, new sources of financing, and extensive business networks, thereby increasing their competitiveness.

Expert Perspectives: Law, Investment, and Sustainability

The forum was moderated by József Vasvári, President of KEP, who emphasized the strategic importance of the event. The series of presentations was opened by Prof. Dr. Gusztáv Báger, Vice-President of KEP, who spoke on sustainable development and Hungarian-Chinese research collaborations. His presentation underscored that economic relations extend beyond trade and that joint scientific and R&D projects can establish a long-term foundation for the partnership between the two countries.

Following this, two experts provided a comprehensive overview of practical market entry. Summer Shen, Director of BOLV, who has over a decade of experience in supporting global expansion, outlined the steps for successful integration into local markets. Her talk revealed that understanding cultural differences and mastering local business customs are essential for lasting success. Qing Sibo, a Senior Partner at Shanghai-based Co-Effort Law Offices, shed light on the legal side of investments, providing detailed guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and regulatory compliance, which are a major concern for foreign investors.

The Workshop as a Foundation for Practical Cooperation

After the formal presentations, the event continued with an interactive workshop. This session was arguably the most important part of the day, as participants had an eight-minute window to present their projects and businesses to potential partners and investors. This format enabled targeted and effective business networking. For the representatives of the Archenerg-Metál Cluster, this platform was particularly valuable as they could directly showcase the potential of their member companies and explore concrete opportunities for collaboration with Far Eastern partners. The KEP forum successfully served as a bridge between Hungarian companies and the promising markets of the Far East, strengthening the international visibility and competitiveness of the Hungarian economy.
