ArchEnerg Cluster, thanks to its close partnership with the Precarpathian Eco-Energy Cluster, held a commemoration of the events of the 1948/49 Revolution and War of Independence in Ivano-Frankivsk on 15 March 2023. As part of the commemoration, the cluster laid a wreath at the memorial statue of Sándor Petőfi in the city. This year, due to the escalation of the war conflict, it was not possible to wreath the church in person, but this year the Archenerg Cluster will pay its respects virtually.

The commemoration on 15 March not only focuses on the Hungarian War of Independence, but also remembered the victims of the war in Ukraine, expressing the solidarity of Hungarians with the suffering Ukrainian population.

Ivano-Frankivsk took the name of the Ukrainian poet Ivan Franko in 1962, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of its foundation. Ivano-Frankivsk is an important economic and cultural centre in Western Ukraine. Industry is the leading sector in the city, accounting for 15% of total employment. More than 500 industrial companies, including 50 large enterprises, operate in the city. There are also a number of colleges and universities.

Franko and Petőfi are both known for their revolutionary poetry, and Sándor Lezsák, Vice President of the Hungarian Parliament, has dedicated a bust to the city. The bronze monument, by Munkácsy Prize-winning sculptor Sándor Kligl of Szeged, was unveiled on 31 July 2017 on the occasion of the 168th anniversary of the death of Sándor Petőfi on the busy promenade of Sevcsenka Park.
