The Innovative Event, Expert Lineup, and the Balance Institute


The conference offers an exceptional opportunity for our cluster members and participants to gain first-hand knowledge about the new elements of the regional development strategy and their impact on Hungarian businesses and cluster networking.


The conference features distinguished speakers, including Dr. Bernadett Petri, Ministerial Commissioner and Managing Director of the Hungarian Development Promotion Office. With over ten years of EU professional and political experience, having previously worked at the European Parliament and the European Commission, she is currently responsible for the use of direct EU funds. Her presentation will analyze the practical effects of the new elements of the regional development strategy.


Dóra Csernus, Climate, Energy, and Environmental Policy Director at the Balance Institute, deserves special attention. The economist and geopolitical expert, who previously worked at the OECD and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, has been dealing with sustainability issues for twenty years. Her presentation, titled Sustainability as a Competitive Advantage: Future Resilience of Businesses and Regions, highlights the importance of a holistic approach to sustainability.


Dr. Csaba Molnár, Director-General of the Csongrád-Csanád County Government Office, will also present, outlining the county's regional development principles and goals through the lens of the Competitive Districts Program.

Topics presented, such as revenue growth and social contribution reduction(presentation by György Tóth and György Tóth Jr., Career Brand Finance Kft.), directly contribute to the economic success of businesses. Additionally, Dr. Ferenc Fedor, a geologist engineer, economist, and President of the National Association of Innovative Clusters (IKOSZ), and Miklós Somogyi, an innovation expert, will also speak. Dr. Fedor, who has participated in numerous R&D projects and is a board member of several professional organizations, will discuss promoting cooperation and international visibility among clusters. Miklós Somogyi will analyze the status of Hungarian innovation with his 45 years of innovation management experience.


The afternoon session continues with the Discussion Forum, a relaxed, "café-style" conversation moderated by Dr. Gyula Nagy, Assistant Professor at the SZTE Faculty of Science and Informatics, Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences, and a social geography expert. Participants can directly ask questions to the speakers and hear the opinions of relevant county stakeholders.

The conference starts at 9:30 AM with arrival and registration.


The professional program begins at 10:00 AM with the welcoming speech by Prof. Dr. István Bíró, President of the Archenerg Metal Cluster. This is followed at 10:10 AM by the keynote address of Dóra Csernus (Balance Institute): Sustainability as a Competitive Advantage: Future Resilience of Businesses and Regions. At 10:40 AMDr. Bernadett Petri (Ministerial Commissioner) presents her lecture: The impact of new elements of the regional development strategy on stimulating Hungarian businesses and fostering cluster networking. From 11:10 AMDr. Ferenc Fedor (IKOSZ President) gives a presentation titled The Role of the National Association of Innovative Clusters in Inter-Cluster Cooperation and International Visibility. At 11:30 AMGyörgy Tóth and György Tóth Jr. (Career Finance Kft.) present their lecture: Solutions for Revenue Growth and Contribution Reduction. At 12:00 PMMiklós Somogyi, an innovation expert, provides an overview titled The State of Hungarian Innovation through the Eyes of an Innovation Manager. A break follows from 12:20 PM to 1:00 PM, and then the two-hour Discussion Forum begins at 1:00 PMwith the participation of the speakers, focusing on Q&A and open conversation. Finally, the event concludes at 3:00 PMwith the closing remarks by András Gonda, Cluster Manager of the Archenerg Metal Cluster.
