We are pleased to announce that the Archenerg Cluster has joined the international collaboration known as ENSA – European Energy Storage Alliance as a partner. This initiative is being implemented with support from the European Union’s Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) program. Funding for the project has already been approved, and the grant agreement is currently being finalized.
The goal of the ENSA project is to promote the development and market application of innovative energy storage technologies, with a particular focus on integrating renewable energy sources and increasing the flexibility of European energy systems. The initiative aims to address the challenge that, alongside the rapid growth of renewable energy production, the efficient storage and balancing of energy is becoming increasingly important.
The consortium brings together a total of 27 partners from 11 European countries, including industry players, research institutes, clusters, and regional development organizations. A key objective of the collaboration is to reduce innovation gaps between more developed and less developed regions, as well as to promote interregional investments and technological cooperation.
The project will involve, among other things, the development and demonstration of short-, medium-, and long-term energy storage solutions, including:
ENSA’s total budget exceeds €10 million and is expected to have a significant impact on the development of European energy storage value chains, particularly by strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.
We are proud that the Archenerg Cluster can be part of this international initiative and actively contribute to the development of sustainable, innovative, and flexible European energy systems.
