On 26 September 2025, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (CCIS) organised an online thematic meeting with private banks from Slovenia, Austria, and Hungary within the framework of the LIFE22-CET-RENOINVEST project.

The event focused on good practices of private banks in financing energy renovations, particularly in multi-apartment buildings. Participants from banks, financing institutions, and project partners discussed challenges such as the lack of legal entity status for buildings, high consent thresholds among owners, and limited availability of standardised financial products.

Several examples of innovative approaches were presented, including portfolio guarantees (Croatia), green loan products supported by the EIB (Austria), and combined grants and soft loans (Slovenia – Eko sklad). SEFA contributed insights on contract standardisation and property-linked finance solutions.

The discussion highlighted the need to lower consent thresholds, introduce legal entity status for buildings, and promote blended financing models combining subsidies and loans. Participants agreed on the importance of stronger cooperation with private banks and committed to continuing the dialogue through follow-up meetings and international events planned in 2026.

This meeting marked an important step in building partnerships between the financial sector and stakeholders in the field of sustainable renovation, contributing to the overall objective of RenoInvest – to mobilise private financing for energy-efficient housing.
