The event focused on how municipalities can respond to EED III renovation obligations through practical planning, tailored financing solutions and stronger cooperation.

The European Commission has adopted a new Citizens’ Energy Package to make energy more affordable, accessible and secure for people across the European Union. Presented on 10 March 2026, the package focuses on reducing energy bills, tackling energy poverty, strengthening consumer protection and helping citizens play a more active role in the clean energy transition.
European Commission launches new strategy to accelerate clean energy investment
The European Commission has adopted a new strategy to accelerate clean energy investment across the EU, with a strong focus on mobilising private finance for energy efficiency, clean technologies and infrastructure. For the renovation sector, the new package is especially important, as it highlights the growing role of innovative financing solutions, one-stop shops and investment models that can help scale up building renovation across Europe.

Summary on the 3rd International Roundtable
On 13 January 2026, the RENOINVEST 3rd International Roundtable took place in Vienna within the EU LIFE project supporting sustainable energy renovation investments in Austria, Hungary, and Slovenia. Participants discussed key barriers and solutions for scaling renovation finance, including the role of National Action Plans, the European Energy Efficiency Financing Coalition (EEEFC), and practical approaches to mobilising private capital—especially for condominiums and municipalities.
Agenda for the final RENOINVEST International Roundtable & Study Visit | 13 January
On 13 January, RENOINVEST will host its final International Roundtable, bringing together experts from finance, real estate, construction, policy and interest groups across Austria, Hungary and Slovenia. The event marks a key milestone of the project, showcasing outcomes from the national stakeholder processes and supporting the scale-up of sustainable building renovation across the region.

3rd Slovenian Natioinal Roundtable
At the 3rd Slovenian national roundtable of the RENOINVEST LIFE project, organised on 8 December 2025 by ZAG and GZS, stakeholders discussed the main barriers and opportunities for scaling sustainable, energy-efficient building renovations in Slovenia. The event introduced the key directions of the emerging Slovenian Action Plan and explored how renovation uptake can be accelerated through stronger policy coordination, more attractive and accessible bank financing, and higher awareness among building owners.
Final Hungarian National RENOINVEST Roundtable
The final Hungarian national RENOINVEST roundtable, jointly organised by ÉMI and the Archenerg Cluster, brought together policymakers, banks, ESCOs, experts and municipalities to discuss how to scale up energy-efficient building renovation in Hungary. Focusing on condominiums and municipal buildings, the event examined how legal, financial and institutional frameworks – from condominium law and EKR to ESCO/EPC models and advisory services – must evolve to make deep, climate-friendly renovations bankable and predictable.
