On 19 May 2026, RENOINVEST will contribute to the national roundtable “Financing sustainable and energy-efficient projects in Slovenia”, taking place at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Ljubljana. The event is organised by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy of Slovenia (MOPE) and the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS) – Energy Efficiency Centre, within the framework of EU LIFE projects and the European Coalition for Energy Efficiency Financing.

The event provides an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation between RENOINVEST and SMAFIN Expanded, two initiatives working to support better access to finance for energy efficiency, sustainable renovation and building-related investments. By joining the SMAFIN Expanded national dialogue, RENOINVEST will contribute its Slovenian project results and practical insights gathered through more than 2.5 years of structured stakeholder engagement.

The roundtable aims to stimulate discussion among key Slovenian stakeholders on barriers to financing sustainable and energy-efficient investments in the public, residential and business sectors. It will also explore how access to private and public financial resources can be improved in order to increase the scale of financing for such projects.

In the afternoon session, Slovenian RENOINVEST partners will present the main findings developed through thematic working groups and national roundtables, with a focus on:

  • staged renovation,
  • circular economy and nature-based solutions,
  • energy communities and district heating,
  • energy consumption monitoring and digitalisation.

The RENOINVEST contribution will highlight key barriers identified in Slovenia, particularly in relation to financing multi-apartment building renovation, and will present practical solutions developed together with national stakeholders.

The programme will also address financial instruments and good financing practices, as well as the systemic framework for comprehensive energy and seismic renovation of buildings. These themes create strong links between the objectives of SMAFIN Expanded and the results of RENOINVEST, supporting continued cooperation and knowledge exchange beyond the project lifetime.

The event is free of charge and will be held in person only, mainly in the Slovenian language. Registration is required.
